The Ohio HIDTA program is locally guided and managed by an Executive Board composed of an equal balance of 26 federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.
Key Structure & Leadership
Role: The Executive Board establishes regional strategies, assesses drug trafficking threats, oversees multi-agency initiatives, and supervises the program’s Executive Director (Andrew Deserto).
Fiduciary Agent: The City of Independence, Ohio, serves as the fiscal and fiduciary agent for the program, and staff such as criminal intelligence analysts and IT specialists who ultimately report through administration to the board.
Composition: It brings together an equal number of regional federal representatives (such as the DEA, IRS, U.S. MARSHALS, HSI, ATF and FBI) alongside state and local leaders (including county sheriffs and local police chiefs) to ensure collaborative oversight across Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Northern Kentucky.
